The Five Precepts

You all know how I feel about religion, but I saw this and thought that it was really cool. This could be a wonderful replacement or fill-in for those who can't quite stomach the Ten Commandments. These are connected to the Buddhist religion.

The Five Precepts

1. Abstain from taking life.

2. Abstain from taking that which is not given.

3. Abstain from misconduct done in lust.

4. Abstain from lying.

5. Abstain from all forms of intoxication.

I like them. It seems as though, these can be used to build a firm foundation of life. But that's just my opinion though, and who the hell am I?

The Ten Commandments were put into place for those who can't live without rules.

There are only two important Ten Commandments that should be used to building a firm foundation of lyfe and that is:

1. Love God
2. Love your neighbor

If you can do these two; everything else falls into place and you won't need to worry about the rules of: "abstaining from" or the "do's or not to do's" of lyfe. It's just that simple.
